New York (October 31, 2023)— Latino USA the Peabody Award-winning weekly public radio program and podcast from Futuro Media in partnership with public media organization PRX today announced the podcast is newly available to Spotify listeners in 18 countries across Latin America, Europe, Asia, Canada, and Australia. This includes Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and beyond.

The Latino USA podcast is also available free on-demand for listeners everywhere via all major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Pocket Casts, Overcast, and at latinousa.org. Anchored by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa since 1993, Latino USA is the longest-running weekly, nationally syndicated public radio program of news, culture, and Latino perspective. The Futuro Media podcast and public radio show is distributed by PRX.

“I became inspired by women journalists who I used to watch and listen to in Mexico City as a little girl. Now in my home country and in other Latin American countries, I’m so excited to think about how our show will inspire the next generation of journalists of conscience in Latin America and the world,” said Maria Hinojosa, Anchor and Executive Producer of Latino USA.

The Latino USA public radio show also continues to expand and is now heard on 386 stations nationwide, including each of the top 10 U.S. media markets. In 2023, multiple public media stations began airing Latino USA —including WBUR in Boston, Iowa Public Radio, and KMRE in Washington— and the program has expanded its international radio broadcast reach, airing to listeners in Canada via the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

In May, the show launched “Celebrating 30 Years of Latino USA,” a campaign to commemorate a defining legacy while also bringing listeners special episodes reflecting the power of past stories on the culture, politics, achievements, identity, and social contributions of Latino communities across the country.

Latino USA strengthens public media and is invaluable to its weekly listeners, expanding our understanding of news and culture and deepening our perspective at a time when this is needed most,” said Jason Saldanha, Chief of Business Development and Content at PRX. “We’re proud to partner with the Futuro Media team of exceptional producers and journalists to bring the show to radio listeners across North America and to podcast listeners everywhere.”

On November 3, Latino USA will release an expansive interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. Latino USA will also feature ongoing nuanced U.S. political coverage ahead of the 2024 elections through a special original initiative titled “The Latino Factor: How We Vote.”
